Real Estate Association of NSW
About REA NSW

REA NSW is a federally- and state-registered “union” and employees (except clerical) in the Real Estate Industry within NSW, are eligible to become members.

The Association first became registered as an Organisation of Employees in 1964 and since that time has continued to assist members with a variety of employment issues.

The Association is Industry-based, and has extensive knowledge on the issues effecting employees in the Real Estate Industry. The Committee of Management of the Association are or were employees (in various categories) in the Real Estate Industry and have a first-hand understanding of issues that affect employees.

The cost of joining the Association includes a $125.00 joining fee (first year only) and $175.00 per year membership (including GST).

Persons eligible to join are:

  • Salespersons, whether full time, part time or casual
  • Property Managers, whether full time, part time or casual
  • Property Officers, whether full time, part time or casual
  • Licensees in Charge – if an employee
  • Strata Managers

Some of the issues the Association has assisted and helped members resolve are:

  • Assisting with contracts of employment/employment agreements
  • Representing members either by negotiating with the employer or attending court to obtain unpaid wages, holiday pay and commissions
  • Advice on employment and professional issues
  • Negotiating award and employment conditions with Peak Employer bodies

Over the past few years we have achieved over $150,000.00 in unpaid monies for REA NSW members.
